🤷🏻♀️ Recipe FAQ
When was the last time you ate pasta that had more protein than carbs? Nowadays, most nutritionists agree that eating too many carbohydrates is not good for you.
These noodles have 10 grams of protein per serving and 7 grams of carbohydrates. Compare these numbers to what regular pastas have 6 grams of protein and 32 grams of carbs in the same portion of ¾ cup.
After comparing these numbers, it’s clear to see that protein noodles are a better option.
It’s also worth noting that these tasty noodles are made with Alaskan pollock, while the dry pasta is made with semolina and durum wheat flour.
While it’s hard to answer such a subjective question, all I can do is give you my own opinion. These noodles have a bland taste that just begs to be enhanced in some way. In other words, they don’t taste great as is.
Like tofu, the flavor of noodles can be enhanced by the sauce in which they are cooked. That’s why I strongly recommend you to choose the right sauce to go with the noodles.
One of the main reasons Chimichurri sauce goes so well with protein noodles is that it contrasts with bland flavor of noodles with intense aroma of the sauce.
👩🏼🍳 Professional advice
- One of the reasons this recipe works is because the protein noodles are made with haddock (fish). Shrimp, sausage and chimichurri sauce complete the noodles.
- Although the noodles are neutral in taste, I would not recommend serving them with tomato-based sauces such as Instant Pot Spaghetti Sauce. Instead, choose olive oil or cream-based sauces that would typically be served with seafood.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
